Enemy Variety
Hello again. For this log I'm gonna talk about enemy variety, specifically in the guys I call the shooters.
I don't know about the name personally, it's just what I typed down when I made the first one.
Anyway... if this game was Halo, the shooters are basically the Elites, and if you don't know what that means, basically it means you probably wont see more than a few on screen at once, and if you do, it probably means you need to get rid of some, fast.
The first shooter I made was this guy, he's pretty basic, just scrolls around at the top of the screen and shoots at you. He's also got shields though, so don't try shooting a rocket at him till those are gone. And speaking of shields...
This golden one looks just like the other, but his colors are a bit different, and his shields behave differently also. They will recharge after being taken down, so if you don't hit him quickly enough, you'll have to take them down all over again.
Up next is the shooter sniper, and this guy doesn't even have shields. He can still be a challenge though, especially for ships without shields themselves since his sniper bullets do high damage to unshielded hulls.
There is also this guy, he shoots several shots at once. His shields also behave a bit differently, but you can find that out for yourself.
So far most of them have been pretty similar, but this last one has got to be one of my favorites.
Dubbed shooter grabber... which is kinda a weird name since he doesn't shoot, but, he's in the shooter family I guess...
Regardless, he likes to try and clap the player to death with his deadly wings.
I personally think his design is pretty neat, and his animations are fun too. Don't get hit, it's not fun.
Well, that's all the shooters for now, I'll probably make them look more unique and different from each other down the road, but they still look cool right now too.
Now, maybe give my game a download, come on, help a guy out... meh heh heh, it's okay I'll live either way.
