Volare is really coming together now.


0.0.5 is about to come out, (give me a day or so) and it marks a huge step for me.

There are now 3 save slots you can choose from, and trust me, there's a good bit to save now. I've added upgradable weapons, upgradable shields and integrity, and 4 experimental ships you can buy with their own play styles (one of them specializes in rockets, it's pretty cool).
I'm still working on the actual level and setting up the enemies, the balance can be hard, but it's pretty fun to see your ship progress from a weak little guy, to a total war machine.

I've also had some fun with the music and sound effects, so enjoy the audible experience. All the music is completely composed by me, this is a one man project, and I have yet to use assets, just Unity, and a lot of coding sound designing, and drawing sprites.

So... please check it out. I've been working hard on it, probably more than I should be since I'm in college, and as far as I can tell, it's one of the most sophisticated space fighter games on itch.

Future plans: Add boss battles and way more enemies, balance the game better, and make the gameplay more fun in any way I can.

Very future plans are: Convert it to a completely hand drawn game with no pixel art (I don't know if this will look good but I want to try it). Add an actual story with characters, romance, comedy, friendship, drama, etc. Oh... and multiplayer.
